Southeast Disability Support was founded by a local husband and wife team, who through their work in the NDIS space, recognized a significant gap on the Mornington Peninsula for quality, reliable & trustworthy NDIS providers. So, in 2022, Southeast Disability Support first opened its doors, bringing over a decade of combined experience in healthcare, mental health, and NDIS support coordination.
With a deep understanding of the challenges and frustrations encountered by participants, families, and support coordinators within the disability sector, we draw upon our own experiences to address the intricate complexities involved in navigating the NDIS and its constantly evolving systems and processes. We recognize the difficulties in finding passionate, reliable, and experienced support staff, especially in semi-remote areas like the Mornington Peninsula, where quality providers may be scarce, leaving participants and their families with limited options and control. Our mission is to revolutionize this landscape and provide a solution to these challenges.
Southeast Disability Support was established not only to bridge the gap but also to provide exceptional support services that set a new standard within the industry. Our team of Support Workers comprises highly experienced individuals, many of whom are either student Nurses or fully qualified Registered and Enrolled Nurses, balancing their shifts at Southeast Disability Support with their roles in hospitals. Each Support Worker and Nurse is carefully selected for their dedication to helping others, genuine passion for their work, and their compassionate, calm, and friendly demeanor. We prioritize our staff's well-being by offering above-award wages, comprehensive training and onboarding, employer-funded professional development, regular social events and opportunities for career advancement. We believe in appropriately compensating our staff for their outstanding contributions, as we understand that a workforce that feels valued and appreciated leads to increased job satisfaction and retention, ultimately resulting in enhanced care and experiences for our participants. At Southeast Disability Support, the well-being and happiness of our participants and staff members are central to every decision and action we take.
At Southeast Disability Support, we collaborate with individuals of diverse ages, backgrounds, disabilities, and support requirements. Our expertise lies in assisting participants with complex psychosocial disabilities, challenging behaviors, and/or high physical support needs, areas where other service providers may have struggled or lacked the necessary resources to offer adequate support. What sets Southeast Disability Support apart is our proactive approach to teamwork, enabling us to deliver case-management style support to participants. We excel in facilitating communication and advocacy across various systems such as health, justice, primary health care, DFFH, and government services. Our services are inclusive and tailored to individuals who may have been underserved or misunderstood by previous providers. As a boutique business, our management team personally knows each participant and staff member, having met them face-to-face. This personal touch underscores our dedication to individualized care and distinguishes us within the industry.
Southeast Disability Support is proudly family-owned and will always remain 100% Australian-owned and operated.
